With a mission to provide quality, safe, affordable housing that build great foundations for our customers, our Home Ownership team are critical to ensuring home ownership occupancies are managed in line with various leases and transfers.

As a Homeownership Officer at Longhurst Group, you will be an integral member of the Home Ownership Services Team providing high quality service to the Group’s homeowners and will be responsible for income collection and general day to day management of homeownership stock including shared ownership. Further key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Investigate and respond to disputes arising from service charges or other lease issues, including the preparation of cases for court, mediation and tribunals, attending and giving evidence where necessary.
  • Interpreting long leases, head leases, transfer documents and management agreements providing advice and assistance to departments within the Group.
  • To maximise the rent and service charge income from homeowners for the group in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • To deal in a polite, professional and efficient manner with all telephone enquiries relating to the management of home ownership properties and to liaise with contractors, scheme managers and service providers, as required.

 

In order to be successful in application for our Homeownership Officer role, you will need previous experience of managing homeowners in line with their agreements including knowledge of court processes and enforcement action, alongside an understanding of landlord and tenant law best practice.        

Our Homeownership Officer role operates in a hybrid capacity, contracted to 36.25 hours per week. To us, this means a minimum of 1 day p/week spent in either our Rushden or Peterborough offices for collaboration with colleagues across the Group, with the remainder of the week working from home (subject to business needs - we are open to discussion around how this is built into working weeks). A large portion of our Home Ownership team also work in a hybrid nature, meeting in the Peterborough or Rushden office on a weekly basis.

This role currently attracts a non-contractual car allowance according to our Driving at Work Policy. This is currently set at £2,600 per annum, however eligibility for the allowance and the rate of the allowance is reviewed annually and any changes will be notified to you.

This could include carer duties, travel, seeking work, education, employment, training, or volunteering.
