As a Community Support Worker, you will be responsible for listening, motivating, guiding and advocating for our young people – you’ll be helping to provide opportunities for a more independent and better life. With each in individual you will help them to make the link between housing, training, and employment, thus providing a steppingstone to independence. Our Community Support Worker role will enable you to help young people through helping them to gain a sense of identity and confidence to help them to progress towards gaining further education, training and/or employment. Further responsibilities are listed below:

 

  • Act as key worker for individuals, writing and maintaining safety and support plans where required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with individuals and external agencies to encourage general wellbeing and social interaction.
  • Ensure that individuals are supported in understanding and managing their tenancy, maximizing their income, paying their rent and utilities, reporting repairs, and using available facilities.
  • Promote the involvement of customers in all aspects of the service.
  • Help the customers understand the responsibilities of holding a tenancy – particularly with respect to keeping the property in a clean and tidy state, not causing a nuisance to neighbours and paying rent. Encourage the customer to take their medication as directed by their GP in promoting positive emotional and physical well-being.

 

Our Community Support Worker role position is a based at our Paines Mill / St Neots HRS contracted to 37 hours per week, split across a 7-day rota (including weekends and evenings).

Vetting Requirements

This role is conditional upon receipt of two satisfactory references (one from your current employer).
